That's no ordinary box.  It was found at a swap meet in Portland, Oregon in April 2002.  It is the factory box for the original free-wheeling hubs offered by Warn.  No dials to turn here.  These were bolted in place for free-wheeling 2WD operation.  Needle bearings inside let the front wheels spin without turning the axle shafts:

   

These are NOS (New Old Stock) and have never been installed.  (They are not for sale.)  The Smithsonian Institute has a pair of these, too.
